Oz Says: These products, such as Poo-Pourri and Toodaloo, really can stop the stink as it starts. Their oils create a slick on the water, trapping odor molecules to prevent them from becoming airborne, says Pamela Dalton, PhD, MPH, a member of the Monell Chemical Senses Center in Philadelphia. (A few drops of a regular essential oil might be effective, too.) Traditional room sprays just aim to mask bad scents. So oils are worth a try, especially in close quarters.
