If you haven't heard of "Damn, Daniel!" by now, you must've lost your Internet connection for the past few days. (Our condolences. Welcome back!) Here's the gist: A high school sophomore named Josh filmed a series of awkwardly hilarious Snapchat videos of his stylish friend Daniel, who's often sporting a pair of white slip-on Vans. The goofy videos became a global sensation in a matter of days.
Between Josh and David's appearance on Ellen and a similar pair of Vans selling on eBay for more than $400,000 (seriously), it's clear that sparkly white shoes are the most covetable item of 2016. And if you still have no idea what we're talking about, you just have to see it for yourself:
Because white shoes are so in right now (we know — it's not even Memorial Day yet!) here's a super simple trick you can use to spruce up that dingy pair you banished to the back of your closet back in 2002.
The best part: You only need baking powder and some good ol' H2O. Whip up the mixture, take an old toothbrush, and scrub them like your life depends on it. Voilà — kicks so fresh and so clean (clean) you might get your own "Damn, Daniel!" the next time you go outside. Just don't expect to get Internet-famous anytime soon.
