Spiced Mango Ice With Lime

Spicy fruit? Don't mind if we do.

Don't fear the cayenne pepper.

Serves: 4


  • 2 ¼ c. chopped mango
  • ½ c. cold water
  • 3 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tbsp. lime zest
  • ¼ tsp. cayenne pepper
  • ⅛ tsp. coarse salt


  1. Puree 2 ¼ cups chopped mango with ½ cup cold water, 3 Tbsp sugar, 1 Tbsp lime juice, ¼ tsp cayenne pepper, and ⅛ tsp coarse salt in a blender until smooth.
  2. Transfer to a shallow airtight container and cover.
  3. Freeze until firm (at least 4 hrs).
  4. Scrape with a fork before serving, breaking up large chunks.
  5. Garnish with lime zest.
