Forget Ramen, These Homemade Instant Noodles Are Our New Lunch Goals

We're not gonna lie: Those tiny 13-cent packages of instant noodles from Top Ramen bring back all kinds of delicious childhood memories. But at 400 calories and nearly 2,000 mg of sodium, your body isn't going to be too happy with you afterward. (Can you say bloat city?) So when we came across an option that's just as easy to whip up on a whim, you better believe we thanked the pasta gods.

Food blogger Denise of Sweet Peas & Saffron created some options with better-for-you ingredients that take a total of 5 minutes to prepare. (Hello, work lunches!) Using whole wheat spaghetti as the healthy pasta base, combined with a whole lot of veggies, some protein, and spices, she was left with make-ahead recipes that keep up to three days in the fridge.

To prepare the delicious concoctions, all you need to do is add some hot water — just as you would with your typical ramen noodle packs — steep for a few minutes, and give everything a nice shake. Afterward, you can dig in to an incredibly filling and cozy meal that you can easily customize to your liking.
