On those days you're running late, wouldn't it be nice to be able to enjoy your breakfast and coffee in record time without all the fuss? Thanks to a weird (but genius) new creation, your morning routine is about to change.

In an adapted recipe from Bon Appétit, blogger Jessica Merchant of How Sweet It Is has made an oatmeal latte — yes, you read that correctly — this summer's must-try morning beverage. Behold the hybrid in all its frothy glory:

The mix — which you can both sip or eat with a spoon — takes little to no effort to make. All you need to do is make your oatmeal per usual, then whip the rolled oats with some steamed milk. After putting the concoction into your mug, pour in a shot or two of espresso. That's it.

If you like your oatmeal sweet, add a pinch of brown sugar or granola on top. If you're good with it tasting more like expresso, keep things simple. Either way, your half-asleep morning self will thank you for this delicious and easy-to-make meal you can enjoy on the go.
