Growing up in the spotlight, Kelly Osbourne has had every moment of her life documented by the media. But, it turns out, the media didn't know everything. Osbourne recently revealed to Us Weekly that she's been silently suffering from what she now knows was undiagnosed Lyme disease for more than 10 years.

In her new memoir, There Is No F*cking Secret: Letters From a Badass Bitch, which the 32-year-old TV personality shared excerpts of with Us Weekly ahead of its release, April 25, Osbourne lays out her long health struggle.

During her father Ozzy Osbourne's 56th birthday party in 2004, her mom Sharon Osbourne arranged for a reindeer sanctuary to be added to their backyard, where Kelly was bitten by a tick. While her dad initially burned the critter off with a match, the insect still drew blood.

For over a decade, Kelly suffered from "traveling pain from a sore throat to stomachaches," she wrote. Then, after suffering a seizure on-set of E!'s "Fashion Police" in 2013, doctors diagnosed her with epilepsy.

But Osbourne sensed something wasn't quite right.

After that diagnosis, the former drug addict was prescribed a variety of painkillers to ease her aches, but nothing helped, she explained. So she kept researching her symptoms, which led her to Lyme disease. No doctor could confirm it, but as a "last resort," her mom took her to see an alternative medicine practitioner, and for the first time, someone seemed to listen to Kelly's gut feelings.

"I had started entering my symptoms into online quizzes, and the results kept coming back Lyme disease," Osbourne wrote in her memoir. "For the first time, someone listened to me, and I got tested. The results were positive: I had stage III neurological Lyme disease. I was relieved to finally know what was going on, but I was also scared sh*tless."

Soon after, the fashion designer headed to Germany to begin treatment and focus on strengthening her immune system so that her body could "fight off and get rid of the disease on its own, which is a much more complete and lasting cure," she explained in her book.

While her diagnosis and treatment has helped the star learn to advocate for herself and her health (something that is very important for us to remember ourselves!), she was still hesitant to reveal all to the public.

"I've kept quiet about my Lyme disease, not only for fear of pharmaceutical companies coming after me because of the cure I found in Germany but also because it seems like the trendy disease to have right now, and I'm tired of seeing sad celebrities play the victim on the cover of weekly mags," she wrote in her memoir.

Osbourne continued, "Since I know firsthand how awfully debilitating it is, I know who really has it and who is just trying to prolong their 15 minutes. I don't understand how anyone could think that the life you have to live with Lyme disease is glamorous."

Now, she makes sure to trust her own instincts when it comes to her health, and when she feels like something is wrong, she won't let anyone dismiss it — because you know your own body better than anyone.
